The Q♠️ invites us to contemplate compassion. Its twin card is the 5♦️. Look at the bees nestling together in the heart of the flower.
But what is compassion? Compassion is having a sensitivity to the suffering of oneself and others, with an appreciation of what might be causing it and with a commitment to try to relieve and prevent it.
The Q♠️, like a good mother, invites us to feel for each other and all that is outside of ourselves, to see all in relationship and to contribute to good connections and a kinder, more creative and loving world.
Compassion is central to our health for many reasons. Compassion:
Enhances Relationships: fostering understanding and empathy, strengthening connections with others
Promotes Well-Being: expressing compassion can positively impact mental and emotional well-being for both the giver and receiver. We are social creatures and bonding is soothing and promotes the release of our affiliation hormone, oxytocin
Builds Community: compassionate actions contribute to a sense of community, creating a supportive and caring environment
Reduces Conflict: understanding others' perspectives and responding with compassion can defuse conflicts and promote peaceful resolutions
Contributes to Personal Growth: cultivating compassion encourages personal growth by fostering qualities like patience, tolerance, and generosity.
Overall, compassion is the energy source that powers the creation of a more harmonious and empathetic world. Compassion is so important that the Task Force for Global Health at the World Health Organisation has a Focus Group for Compassion and Ethics (FACE)
Compassion sounds wonderful doesn't it? But it can be hard especially when we're not in good flow, when we are in the blue and red zones of 3♥️ and 5♥️ heart. So we need to work out where we are, settle and ground ourselves and keep on practicing. As always, there are lots of The Cards to help us.
