A simple practice is to notice:

  • five things you can see

  • four things you can hear

  • three things you can touch

  • two things you can smell

  • one thing you can taste.

Or perhaps you might make a soothing toolkit that you can carry around with you: What will you put in yours? Maybe a pebble, shell or conker, some scented oil, a herbal teabag, a poem, a photograph...and your pack of The Cards.
